Dear colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the CASP 2022 Istanbul 2nd International Conference and Exhibition on Corrosion and Surface Protection for Steel (CASP 2022) to be achieved as online on 25-26 May 2022 considering the COVID-19 pandemics and its variants.
Turkish Constructional Steelwork Association (TUCSA) organises these CASP conferences in coordination with the European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS). The CASP 2019 symposium achieved on 22-24 May 2019 in Istanbul. Upon its success, it was decided to organise CASP conferences every second year. Therefore, we initially planned to achieve CASP Conference in 2021, but it was postponed to 2022 due to Covid pandemics.
In the last December, it was assessed that organising the 2nd International Conference and Exhibition on Corrosion and Surface Protection for Steel in the hotel could not be safe enough for health due to the Covid pandemics. Therefore, Organising Committee decided to make CASP 2022 virtual instead of face-to-face meeting.
The estimated global cost of corrosion is about US$ 2.5 trillion in accordance with the "International Measures of Prevention, Application and Economics of Corrosion Technology (IMPACT)" study released by NACE in 2016. The biggest portion of which is stemmed from the corrosion of steel.
The conference will cover all aspects of corrosion science and engineering as well as steel and other relevant material protection with world-wide reach. Main topics will include the advances in corrosion prevention, corrosion monitoring, corrosion resistant materials, surface treatment and coatings, inspection and non-destructive testing, electrochemical methods, analytical techniques and microscopy, corrosion inhibitors and others. In addition, relations between corrosion and emission of greenhouse gases within the global warming issue will be covered as well.
With the expected attendance, the online conference will be a very effective networking opportunity for scientists, academics, students and representatives of research institutions and industry in an existing professional setting and atmosphere. The scientific programme will consist of plenary lectures by world-renowned corrosion and surface protection specialists. Plenary and parallel sessions on a variety of topics will offer specialists on corrosion and surface protection from all over the world the opportunity to meet and present their research.
Audiences will take part in the online conference free of charge, only presenters of papers will pay a symbolic fee for publication.
In addition, virtual exhibition opportunity will not be limited to the conference days to promote products and services of relevant companies and institutions.
We sincerely hope you will join us on 25-26 May 2022 at Internet
