New Steel Building Projects: Libya ANSOF Business Center

Architect: Boran Ekinci Contractor: System İnşaat Ltd. şti. Venue:Libya-Tripoli Project type: Business Center (office, shopping, conference ) Project Design Date: April-2009 Construction Site: 100.000 m2 A group of buildings designed on a projection given as ready master plan that was done in Libya. Consist of two identical building blocks, nearly 100 000 square meters indoor area functioning as parking, shopping, conference, meeting and office space. Shopping, conference and meeting spaces are placed at the base of the building on the ground floor while the above floors are concidered for offices. At the basement level several cores are binded together by inner circulation axis of a very strong spacial effect and scale and this perception and spatial effect is heightened by the high ceilings. This circulatory axis continues among the blocks as united with an eaves element and thus a continuum is obtained. Bridges, courtyards, and galleries designed at lower blocks between floors and their different functions create surprising spaces with rich and dinamic space plans. The facade of the building consist of a cavity wall system. The outer layer is formed by light building materials facing x-y-z direction designed as a modular awning system. The inner wall surrounding the structural system is completely designed in glass and a transparency that enhances the quality of the inner space. With the vacuum between the double walls creating a natural air circulation thus enhancing climatization of the inner space were intended. This effect was promoted since the heat on the outer surface thus relatively was stopped from penetrating the inner space as well.
