Following the execution of reinforced concrete radar towers in Bosphorus and Dardanelles, a total of 24 no. Radar towers in Marmara, Izmit, Izmir and
Mersin regions required to be constructed with steel systems as land conditions did not allow concrete casting and most of the towers were to be located in forests and steep, remote locations. It is decided to use the system called "Stabilization of Spirals with Metal Sheets Method" developed and patented by M.Sc. Alaittin Attaroğlu.
This is a light system in size which can be lifted by a single person. Furthermore, it is preferred as there would be no water and wind trap upon
completion of the tower. Two concentric cylinders have been considered in architectural point of view. Elliptic section finish of outer cylinder and
lightning conductor system which is required to be at higher elevation than the radar unit is located at the top of the ellipse, thus not preventing the
rotating radar antenna. Tower is placed in a square-shaped quadrangle consisting of prefabricated units. Red light for warning the planes is located in the outer cylinder whereas the white light is located in the inner cylinder.
Contrast view of a technological structure in nature resulted in a magnificient result without artificiality.
