Regulation on Design, Calculation and Execution Principals of Steel Structures, having a significant importance for construction and steel structure industry in Turkey, was issued on 4 February 2016 and came into effect on 1 September 2016.
Regulation which was being requested by Turkish Construction Steel Association since 2006 was prepared by Prof.Dr. Cavidan YORGUN, Prof. Dr. Erkan ÖZER, Prof. Dr. Cem TOPKAYA and Assistant Professor Dr. Cüneyt VATANSEVER, each being a member of Turkish Construction Steel Association, pursuant to the protocol signed by and between Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and Istanbul Technical University dated 2015.
Two further elements were required to put the subject regulation into practice: a directive Execution Guide for execution purposes and courses with respect to the use of the Regulation. The former has been prepared by Prof. Dr. Cavidan YORGUN, Prof. Dr. Cem TOPKAYA and Assistant Professor Dr. Cüneyt VATANSEVER this year and published by Ministry of Environment and Urbanization Professional Services General Directorate.

Courses on Design and Calculation
Principles of Steel Structures are held by YAÇEM Akademi incorporated within Turkish Construction Steel Association.
Third of the subject courses after Istanbul and Antalya will be held in Istanbul between 28-30 July 2017 and it is planned to organize the upcoming courses in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
