There is a trend of change in steel structures, manufacturing and technology is changing with thinner sections, less material and cease of cast manufacturing. And I say, maybe steel’s name will be changed.
I believe that, despite 60’s, 70’s and usual I and U-sections, shell materials in industries other than construction and main shell membrane materials will be used more in construction. Industries such as automotive and aviation actually create solutions. Therefore, habits in these industries will also spread to ours. We have to focus on the use of these profiles and cross-sections eksewhere without fixating on a certain form and material.
Yes, this is a durable materal but we eventually use it as a stick member in most places. We need to be finished with this and transform it into something else. We actually melt and transform it, produce different cross-sections as opposed to the reinforced concrete cross-sections you know. However, the material is not found in this state in nature, you melt and form it into something else. Why do we always have to put it into the same form, let’s bring it to an all-new level. Automotive and all other transportation industries went this direction, using the material in other forms, where you still produce these since they are the best-selling ones. What are you waiting for?
