It is noticed that no direct cantilever elements are connected to the reinforced columns but circular or box steel columns in harmony with the architecture have been placed in front of the reinforced concrete columns, where the cantilever beams are connected to these steel columns. These cantilever beams are connected to each other with secondary beams in the form of a walkway and the walkway is in the form of an eliptical spiral in plan. Therefore, the load-bearing beams are exposed to torsional loads. The beams are designed with a rectangular closed box form in order to carry the torsional loads which also prevents exceeding the displacement and vibration limits.

BIM BASED SOFTWARE HAVE BEEN UTILISED

Whilst the structure was designed in line with the Turkish regulations, American regulations were utilised for the vibration calculations. It is observed that the walkway has been built in the existing reinforced concrete structure with complicated and oval forms within itself. Furthermore, Tekla X-Steel and Revit, which are BIM based software, have been used for modelling purposes as the design and construction durations were very limited. Manufacturing details were designed with Tekla X-Steel and SAP2000 software was used for all calculations.

STEEL MANUFACTURING

In this project, TS ENV 1090-1 was utilised for generaldefinitions of steel structures. EN 1090-2 was utilised fortechnical requirements for execution and EN 10079 was utilised for structural steel elements and steel structures. EXC3 was selected for execution class whilst the welding plan and welding procedure specification (WPS) were prepared inaccordance with this execution class.

Manufacturing procedure, assembly procedure and qualityplan were prepared for occurrences which required welding plan. Required preparations were made before starting to work as per prEN 1090-2 and Quality Plan was executed in line with the sample format provided in prEN 1090-2 Appendix-C.

Welding works were executed in line with the relevant chapters of TS 3357, TS EN 3834 and TS EN ISO 14554.

All information regarding the welds have been provided in the relevant drawings and manufacturing drawings whilst the welding personnel for the steel works have been selected from welders possessing required certificates as per TS EN 287-1 and TS EN 1418 or AWS D1.1.
