Further to cooperation with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department since 24 October 2019, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Training Center (IBITEM) and TUCSA YAÇEM Academy Fire Safety Group members visited IBITEM in Resneli Training Centre on 28 September 2020 and a consultation and planning meeting has been held. TUCSA visitors comprised of H. Yener Gür’eş (TUCSA Board Chairman), Ilker Ibik (YAÇEM Executive Board Member, TUCSA TK-3 Fire Committee Chairman and Efectis Era A.Ş. Board Chairman), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Selamet (TUCSA TK-3 Fire Committee Vice Chairman and Boğaziçi University Department of Civil Engineering Faculty Member), Aydın Kulaksız (Constructional Steelwork Training and Research Centre (YAÇEM) General Manager), Ülker Verenel (TUCSA Fire Safety Committee and YAÇEM Fire Safety Group Reporter, Efectis Era A.Ş. Marketing Director).
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Head of Fire Department Remzi Albayrak has been presented with YAÇEM Academy Fire Safety Group training proposals stated in the first item of Joint Working Group Action Plan (which was principally approved by the same) by YAÇEM Fire Safety Group Director, Ilker Ibik. Following the completion of the presentations, opinions have been shared on how the cooperation works will be executed by TUCSA Board Chairman and international studies on statistics with converting statistics to actions. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Selamet stated his pleasure in relation to IBITEM’s Fire Academy project and that it would be beneficial to cooperate with universities / academicians on Certification programs. After the presentation and advisory talks in the conference room, YAÇEM Academy Fire Safety Group visited the fire training containers / units on the training grounds with the guidance of and detailed information provided by Lieutenant Colonel/Deputy Chief Raif Gürcan Göltaş, Commander/Division Chief Fatih Bilgili, Captain/ Battalion Chief Zafer Özçakmak and Captain/Battalion Chief Bahri Kavlu. At the end of this technical visit, an assessment has been made in the canopy in open air. COVID-19 precautions, discipline in the facility, order and organization starting from entering the facilities were remarkable and gratifying. At the end of the day with the traditional hosting of the fire department, the participants concluded the visit by conveying their wishes on getting together again at first availability for putting their discussions into practice, visiting other training facilities and completing the studies on the training program as soon as possible.
