13th Constructional Steel Day organized by Turkish Constructional Steelwork Association was held on December 12, 2012 Wednesday at Süleyman Demirel Culture Centre of Istanbul Technical University. Companies like Akşan, Arcelormittal, Borusan Mannesmann, Doralp, Kanat Boya, Kardemir, Akis Boya Sanayi, As Cıvata Sanayi, Berdan Cıvata Somun ve Yedek Parca Sanayi, Computers & Engineering, Endeco Mühendislik, Eryap Plastik Sanayi, Hempel Coatings Sanayi ve Ticaret, Hilti İnşaat Malzemeleri Ticaret, İz Mühendislik, Marmara Siegener Galvaniz Sanayi, Rozak Demir Profil Ticaret Sanayi, Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sanayi, Uskon Uzay Sistem Konstruksiyon, Steelife Galvanizli Hafif Çelik Yapı Sistemleri, Voortman, Yapı Merkezi Prefabrikasyon Sanayi had the chance to meet and talk with participants at the Company Promotion Points in the foyer of the hall, where the meeting was realized with a great participation. At the first part of the 13th Constructional Steel Day, 5 magnificent steel construction projects, designed and fabricated in Turkey, were presented. At the beginning of the meeting moderated by Prof. Dr. Harun Batırbaygil, Dr. Selçuk İz and Hunberk Kanıbelli shared the “HAMP Haydar Aliyev Culture Centre Bakü-Azerbaijan Rotational Symmetric Fractal Shell Application” project with the audience. After that, the projects of “Double Tree By Hilton Avcılar” presented by Mr. Okan Ünyazıcı, “Doha Airport” presented by Ahmet Çıtıpıtıoğlu, “Istanbul Naval Museum ” presented by Zihni Tekin, “Salt Beyoğlu” presented by Celal Erdem and Ara Pekmezoğlu have been shared with the participants by giving the details in steel construction technology in their projects. The session ended with questions and answers.
In the second part of the 13th Constructional Steel Day a panel was met to discuss the subject of “Steel Construction Design in Turkey”. Panellist were Architect Gürsel Tabanlıoğlu, Architect Ahmet Alataş, Dr. Selçuk İz and Dr. Kerem Peker, and the panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Hasan şener. The open session was held in a warm ambiance, and ended with the questions of the participants.
