Artist Gökhan Deniz who preferred to use stainless steel instead of canvas in his last exhibition said that “Stainless steel, together with its mirror effect, makes it much faster to face reality, with the distance, point of view and the mobility of the location of the attendant. Or it wants us to think, which one is real” and shared the details of his work by stating that “The techniques I tried to use on stainless steel canvas, brought an alternative point of view to the communication that the attendant builds up with the paintings. The ‘momentary’ catch of his/her own body of the attendant on the reflection of the steel surface, I mean facing with the reflection of his/her own silhouette, was effective during the reading period of the painting. Using the stainless steel canvas as a platform, carried my way of reflecting the existing ones to a multimedia platform, the change in my use of material satisfied my will to include the attendant more in the business and accelerate the painting.”
