In 2010 the production of electrical energy was 45.9% from natural gas, 25.3% from coal, 24.5% from hydroelectrical power plants.
“As a department we support the sector with our decisions”
In 2010 the production of electrical energy was 45.9% from natural gas, 25.3% from coal, 24.5% from hydroelectrical power plants. The present electrical energy supply is for the end of 2010 nearly 50 000 MW of which 65% is thermic, 31% is hyro, and 2.6% is wind. As a department we anticipate 500 billion kw/h till 2023 and the 20% of this will be from renewable energy sources.
As you know the Law no 5346 concerning the renewable energy sources in power production was instigated in 2005 and in application a total of 3180 MW power by 87 wind tursines are licenced and in action. Recent numbers indicate that 5000MW wind power plants are licenced. Now nearly 1500MW of it is working and plugged into the network. The remaining 2000MW is still being constructed. Our main goal as Department in licencing, in 2015, is around 11500MW.
To mention the Law no 6094; in 2005 we instigated the Law no5346 which gave simply 5 Euro cent as warranty to the renewable energy resources. From 2005 to 2011 this rose to 5.5 Euro cent. Then the necessity to revise the law came into view and on Jan. 8, 2011 was published in the official register. According to which wind is 5.5 Euro cent- 7.3 Dollar Cent- and sun 13.3.
In Law no 6094 the most significant change is the decision to support the national industry in using renewable energy sources. There is a scale in the new law there is an extra allowance for home produce used in electricity production by renewable energy sources.
